Outreach Group A fund-raising group supporting several children’s charities.
The first one is the Smile Train. This charity is UK based and provides funds for doctors to tour round some of the worlds poorest countries and operate on children with cleft palates and hair lips.
The second charity is called The Saigon Children’s Charity. This is also UK based and provides funds for children in Saigon and outlying areas to get an education.
The third charity is called Hope and Homes for children. Again this is UK based and was set up by a retired Army officer after he had witnessed the appalling orphanages in the Balkans whilst serving in Kosovo and Rumania. The aim is to try and reunite the children in the orphanages with their families or to place them in foster homes as it is thought that children thrive better in a family environment.
Guides The 6th Sidcup Brownies and the 4th Sidcup Guides meet in the Church Hall on Friday evenings. A full range of activities is provided for the various age ranges.
